For failing to stop the kidnap of Salisu Usman Maku, the nephew of former information minister, Labaran Maku four policemen are now likely to lose their jobs.

According to reports, the policemen were on duty near the kidnap scene on Tuesday, July 14, but failed to stop the kidnap.

They were accused of taking cover and hiding from the kidnappers, as Maku who was kidnapped alongside his wife, was later killed as was his younger sister, Sa’adatu.

Commissioner of Police Bola Longe who confirmed the arrest of the policemen said;

“As a professional police officer, you don’t take cover and hide; you take cover and act, it is only the driver of the police Hilux that is set free because his job is to drive the vehicle and he was actually in the car during the operation, but the other four armed police officers took cover and hid.”
