On the heels of the travel advisory from the American consulate to its citizens in Abuja, the Department of State Services (DSS), has confirmed it carried out an operation in an estate in the nation’s capital.
However, the secret police denied carrying out the operation in partnership with American soldiers.
Peter Afunanya, the SSS spokesperson, told PRNigeria;
“I can categorically tell you that we did not carry out any joint operation with American soldiers as being widely reported in the media.
“Though we carried out an operation in an Abuja Estate with sister agencies, no foreign troops were involved.”
Afunanya did not speak on the exact number of suspects arrested as well as their identity.
