The public dispute between Nollywood actress Doris Ogala and Pastor Chris Okafor of Grace Nation Ministry has taken a new turn.

The Octopus News had earlier reported that Ogala disclosed fresh details about her alleged relationship with the cleric. Following Pastor Okafor’s recent marriage to his partner, Pearl, the actress has now instituted a ₦1 billion lawsuit against him, citing an unfulfilled promise of marriage.
In the suit, Ogala accused the Pastor Okafor of causing her emotional distress, reputational damage, and breaching trust arising from their alleged relationship.

The ₦1 billion claim includes demands for financial damages, a public apology, and legal recognition of the alleged wrongs committed against her.
In a previous report, Ogala stated that she and Pastor Okafor were involved in what she described as a serious, long-term relationship, during which she was led to believe that marriage was imminent.
Speaking during an interview with media personality Daddy Freeze, Ogala revealed that the relationship spanned several years. She claimed she made personal sacrifices, offered unwavering support, and remained loyal, only to be abandoned when the pastor allegedly chose to marry someone else. According to the actress, her legal action is aimed at seeking justice for emotional and psychological harm suffered and not an attempt to blackmail the cleric.
Pastor Okafor, who has been married previously, divorced his former wife, Bessem Okafor, in 2014 after she accused him of domestic abuse and assault.
