COVID-19: FG To Resume School Feeding Programme

The Federal Government is set to resume the National Home Grown School Feeding Programme (NHGSFP).
This was disclosed by the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Umar Farouq, in Abuja at the 4th annual review of the scheme.
The programme will kick off across the country including the Nigerian capital, Abuja in February 2021.
This is despite the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic which has hit harder across the country.
The National Home Grown School Feeding Programme is one of the key policies of the Buhari administration.
Umar Farouq announced that the school feeding scheme will commence immediately school resumes while expressing optimism that there will be an increment in school enrollment.
She added that additional 5 million pupils including children in non-conventional educational settings, would be added to the scheme.
