The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has advised the general public to beware of individuals and companies falsely claiming to represent it.
The advice was given in a statement signed by Olufemi Soneye, NNPCL’s Chief Corporate Communications Officer on Monday, June 9.
In the statement, Soneye disclosed the modus operandi of such companies as soliciting fees for meetings with the NNPC board of directors, executives and management staff. He described the actions as unauthorized and illegal.
Furthermore, the statement urged foreign investors and international business entities to remain cautious, while adding that if approached, they should report the incident to the appropriate authorities immediately.
Soneye noted that all legitimate engagements with NNPC Limited occur strictly through official channels or business units only. Stating that the company remains committed to transparency, integrity and the protection of its stakeholders in all interactions.
