Be Patient With Herders, Gombe Governor Advises Southern Counterparts

The Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Yahaya, has advised his southern counterparts to exercise patience with herders in their states.
Governor Yahaya stated this on Tuesday, March 9, arguing that not all herdsmen are to be seen as dangerous persons or armed criminals.
According to Yahaya, the habit of associating cattle rearers with criminality is very rampant in the southern part of the country.
He said: “It a problem people encounter especially our herders in the South, which is usually attached with criminal activities of some elements which are not necessarily the cattle rearers and herders. I urge them to stay in peace and live in peace wherever they are.”
He, therefore, urged Nigerians to live in peace throughout the country in order to experience progress in all aspects of national life.
