Atiku Reaffirms Commitment To PDP, Rubbish Claim His Is Leaving Opposition

Atiku Abubakar has denied Senator Ifeayin Okowa’s position that he is set to dump the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
While confirming his defection from the PDP to the All Progressive Congress (APC), Okowa insinuated that Atiku was set to dump the party where he contested as presidential candidate in 2023.
Countering the position, the former Vice President said that he is not leaving the PDP, affirming his commitment to the party.
Atiku, who spoke through his media aide, Paul Ibe, dispelled the rumours, making it clear he has no intention of leaving the PDP.
Ibe said; “Former Vice-President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, bears no grudges; he has said that, and he means it.
“As a democrat, he subscribes to the universality and constitutionality of the freedom of association, which is one of the pillars of democracy, without which democracy would be meaningless.
“We have addressed the issues about coalition, and remember that we had a statement to that effect; Alhaji Atiku Abubakar is not leaving the PDP, and he has said that clearly.”
“As for those talking about him leaving the PDP, we don’t know where they are getting that from.”
