There is no disputing the depth of the pocket of businessman Taiwo Afolabi.
The Sifax Group boss is stupendously rich, and this is not an overstatement.
However, even the deepest of pockets shrink at the magnitude and cost of some projects.
This is what has been speculated about Afolabi who prior to now had abandoned his Marriott Hotels franchise for years.
Years back, Afolabi secured the franchise of world class hospitality brand, the Marriott Hotels & Resort, to build a branch of the top-rate hotel in Lagos.
However, since then nothing had been done on the site of the hotel located in GRA, Lagos until recently when work resumed again on proposed 5-star hotel.
Many who have witnessed the commencement of work on the site have been asking why it took the shipping magnate years before putting his money where his mouth is. Other people have also pondered if he rushed to commence work due to fear of revocation of the franchise.
