At least nine chieftains of the All Progressive Congress (APC), are currently jostling for the seat of the Deputy Governor of Ondo State.
This is as the plot to impeach the Deputy Governor of the State, Agboola Ajayi heightens.
The party stalwarts are reportedly interested in replacing Ajayi for the rest of Akeredolu’s remaining days in his first term, as well as possibly serve as his running mate for the October 10, 2020 governorship election.
Reports indicate that the chieftains have been using their influence and resources to sponsor the impeachment process.
Names of nine APC chieftains allegedly jostling for Ondo deputy gov’s seat include:
1. Mrs. Oladunni Odu, ex-commissioner for Education.
2. Dr. Paul Akintelure, current chairman of Universal Basic Education Board
3. Femi Agagu, Commissioner for Education
4. Lucky Ayedatiwa
5. Gbenga Edema
6. Olamide Falana
7. Jimi Kuforiji, the deputy Chief of Staff
8. Wale Akinterinwa, Commissioner for Finance
9. Yetunde Adeyanju, Commissioner for Water Resources
