Ambassadorial Appointment: Why I Won’t Reply PDP-Buratai

Former Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Tukur Buratai, has revealed that he won’t be responding to criticism from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Buratai stated this in the light of the criticisms that have trailed his ambassadorial appointment from President Muhammadu Buhari.
Since the announcement of his appointment, Buratai has kept mute on calls from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for a probe on him.
Speaking with journalists on Saturday, February 6, he said he is not a politician, and thus cannot give any reply to the PDP.
Buratai said this after a special gala night organised for him by members of the 29th Regular Course Association of the Nigerian Defense Academy.
In his words: “It’s an honourable retirement and also an honourable appointment. I’m not a politician, so I have no word for the opposition.”
Buratai boasted that while in office, he did very well, achieved a lot and set up various structures in the force.
He said: “I am happy that in July last year, my officers at the Army headquarters compiled a compendium of my achievements.
“In fact, I can’t even remember all the projects that we have executed. Is it in term of infrastructure? Is it in term of capacity building? Is it in terms of training? Since I was appointed, there was never a dull moment in terms of training.”
