Alleged Fraud: Court Grants Sirika, Daughter, Two Others N100m Bail Each

A former Minister of Aviation, Hidi Sirika, his daughter and two other individuals have been granted bail by a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja.
The trio were granted bail to the tune of N100 million each.
The court orders them to submit two sureties, both of whom must have acquired properties in Abuja.
The sureties according to the court must be law-abiding citizens as well. A means affidavit must be deposed to by the sureties.
Also, the court mandated that the sureties must own landed properties within the FCT with valid titles. The trial will commence on the 10th, 11th and 20th of June.
The court also prohibited the suspects from leaving the country without authorization.
Justice Oriji ordered that the defendants should be remanded in prison custody if they failed to meet their bail conditions.
They were charged to court by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for allegedly defrauding the country to the tune of N2.7 billion.
