Police Arrest Six Over Allege Attempt To Hack BVAS In Adamawa

Officers of the Adamawa State Police Command have arrested six suspect over an alleged attempt to hack into the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) device deployed by the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC) for the governorship rerun election in the state.

The suspect were arrested in Bolki community in Numan Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

Numan has the highest polling units of 14, among the 20 LGAs where the governorship rerun took place on Saturday, April 15, 2023.

Bolki in particular has 13 of the 14 polling units where the rerun was held in Numan

The suspects were alleged to be trying to manipulate election results by tampering with the BVAS when they were spotted..

The suspects were arrested after some locals raised alarm over the presence of faces that the community members could not recognized.

A video of the arrest showed the suspects being whisked away from Bolki in a police van manned by police operatives.
