Court Sacks Ex-Speaker Yakubu Dogara From House Of Reps

A former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara has been sacked from the lower chambers.
Dogara, who represents Bogoro/Dass Federal constituency of Bauchi State was sacked by the court for defecting to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He was the Speaker of the House of Representatives between 2015 and 2019 and was re-elected back to the House of Representatives at the expiration of his tenure.
He defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC last year, an action that made the PDP dragged him to court to reclaim the mandate given to him.
Dogara was sacked by Justice D.U. Okorowo of the Federal High Court, Abuja on Friday, April 22, with the judge holding that the lawmaker’s defection to the APC was not in order.
