Lagos Schools To Remain Closed Till Further Notice

The Lagos State Government has stated that all schools in the state will remain closed till further notice.
This much was disclosed on Sunday, January 3, as the decision was attributed to efforts being made to curb the spread of the second wave of COVID-19.
The spokesman of the Ministry of Education in the state, Kayode Abayomi, explained that the government’s earlier order that schools should resume from Monday, January 4, cannot hold anymore following the new spike in the number of coronavirus cases.
He said: “Please, recall that the Ministry of Education earlier announced 4th of January as resumption date for the second term 2020/2021 academic session, but this has since been overtaken by the turn of events due to the recent waves of Covid-19 pandemic.
“As a result of the spike in Coronavirus pandemic, Mr. Governor announced the indefinite closure of all schools. To this end, kindly be informed that a new date of resumption will be announced as soon as possible.”
