Military Operatives Besiege National Stadium As RevolutionNow Protest Begins

There is a heavy presence of security operatives at the National Stadium Surulere, Lagos State, as the RevolutionNow protest begins.
The security operatives are made up of the Army, the Navy, the Air Force and police officers.
Protesters defied the order against the RevolutionNow protest aimed at demanding better governance, storming the stadium chanting solidarity songs in the early hours of today.
Organisers of the protest had earlier assured that the protest would continue nationwide despite the arrest of its convener, Omoyele Sowore.
Sowore, the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (ACC) in the last election was arrested by the Department of State Security (DSS) on Saturday, August 3, two days before the start of the RevolutionNow protests.
According to the presidency, Sowore is working with some foreigners to disrupt the nation.
