Access Bank & Herbert Wigwe clinch EMEA Finance’s ‘Best Bank & Best CEO’ Awards

Congratulations are in order for Nigeria’s foremost financial institution, Access Bank, as they have just won big at the EMEA Finance African Banking Awards 2016.
Africa’s most respected Nigerian Bank didn’t just take home one award, but won all three it was nominated in – Corporate Social Responsibility, Best CEO – Pan Africa, and Best Bank in Nigeria.
Cementing its status as a provider of excellent service and innovations, Access Bank has been on an impressive winning streak since the beginning of 2016. Early in July, it emerged as the 1st African bank in history to take home the prestigious Karlsruhe Sustainability Award in Germany. A week before, it received the 2016 Best Euromoney Award. The Bank also went on to win the Bank of the Year at the recently-concluded BusinessDay Awards, while the vibrant GMD, Herbert Wigwe, received the ‘Bank CEO of the year’ award.
EMEA Finance Awards recognize yearly accomplishments in retail and investment banking, asset management amongst other financial services in Africa.
This year’s nominees included Citi Bank and Standard Bank, South Africa; JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs, Tunisia and Dyer & Blair, Kenya.
