The Confederation of African Football (CAF), has named Achraf Hakimi as the African Footballer of the year.
Hakimi was named the winner of the African Footballer of the Year male category during the 2025 CAF Award which was held in Rabat, Morocco today, Wednesday, November 2025.
He defeated Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen, and Tunisia’s Mohammed Salah to pick the award.
Hakimi who is currently injured with an Anterior Cruciate Ligament, (ACL), while delivering his acceptance speech appreciated Mohammed VI , King of Morocco for providing all the needed amenities to promote football in the country.
The PSG defender also appreciated his family and friends, stating that it wasn’t easy getting to where he is. He also appreciated his physiotherapists among other people.
