Brown Joel, who is popular for his role in the collaborative hit song “Ogechi”, has shut down digital number rating, also known as streams.
Streams has become a bragging right among music artists in the world, as it has become a measure of project success..
The singer and songwriter shared his opinion during a recent video, adding that, “When you get to a concert, real humans will sing for you. Not digital numbers.”
He also addressed the misinformation that he belongs to a music group. According to him, his role in “Ogechi” was merely as a collaborator, and not as a crew or group member.
“We’re not a group. We’re friends and individual artists. There’s no contract binding us as a crew.”
Brown Joel described himself and his collaborators as independent acts, not tied to any formal collective.
