NNPC Ltd Trashes Purported Recruitment Announcement For Port Harcourt Refinery

Lukmon Akintola,
Lagos
The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) has refuted a recruitment announcement for the Port Harcourt Refining Company (PHRC) circulating on certain online platforms.
In a statement issued on Friday, January 17, and signed by Olufemi O. Soneye, Chief Corporate Communications Officer of NNPC Ltd, the company urged the public to disregard the announcement, describing it as a fraudulent scheme aimed at deceiving unsuspecting individuals.
Soneye clarified that there is no separate recruitment process for the Port Harcourt Refinery beyond the ongoing recruitment for NNPC Ltd businesses that began last year. He noted that successful candidates from the Computer-Based Aptitude Test are now proceeding to the interview stage this week.
He further warned that the recruitment links circulating online are the work of fraudsters seeking to exploit the recent revamp of the Port Harcourt Refinery.
“The purported recruitment link being circulated on various online platforms is the handiwork of fraudsters who are keen on taking advantage of the newly revamped Port Harcourt Refinery to fleece unsuspecting members of the public with a phantom recruitment announcement.
“We, therefore, call on members of the public to be wary of the plot and not fall for it,” the statement concluded.
