2023: Labour Party Senatorial Candidate Killed By Unknown Gunmen

Unknown gunmen suspected to be assassins have murdered the Labour Party (LP) senatorial candidate for Enugu East Senatorial district.

Oyibo Chukwu, a lawyer was reportedly shot and killed in Enugu on Wednesday, February 22, while returning from a campaign trip.

The deceased was also set ablaze in the vehicle he was traveling in.

Three other persons were believed to have been with him in the vehicle, however, it is yet to be confirmed if any of the occupants survived the attack.

According to Vanguard Newspapers, a top member of LP who confirmed the attack added that he should not be quoted until the family speaks.
