2023: INEC Announces Date For General Elections

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has announced that the next general election will hold on February 18, 2023.
This was made known by Professor Mahmood Yakubu, the electoral commission’s chairman.
He made the revelation in Abuja while speaking at a public hearing on the ‘National Electoral Offences Commission (Establishment) Bill, 2021’ on Wednesday, April 28.
The INEC chairman noted that the timetable and schedule of activities for the election would be released after the Anambra governorship election scheduled to hold on November 6.
According to him, the country has exactly one year, nine months, two weeks, and six days to the next general election. He expressed confidence that the National Assembly will do the needful about the Electoral Act Amendment Bill.
