2019 AFCON: Algeria Dumps Nigeria Out Of Tourney
The Nigerian Super Eagles have been knocked out of the ongoing 2019 African Cup of Nation.
The team lost 2:1 in a game dominated by the north African side.
Algeria took the lead in the first half of the match through a Williams Troost-Ekong own goal.
Nigeria leveled via a penalty scored by Odion Ighalo. However, the final minute of added time saw a stunning free kick by Riyad Mahrez giving Algeria the match.
Algeria will progress to play in the final of the tournament against Senegal on Friday, July 19, while Nigeria will meet Tunisia in the third place match on Wednesday, July 17.
