For most parents who buy toys for their daughters, the common product often purchased is the western styled white doll.
However, for Taofik one of the scions of industrialist and philanthropist, Rasak Okoya, that is an anomaly, as the he is of the opinion that buying white dolls for African children reduces their self esteem.
This is the reason why his company, ‘Fico Solutions’, for years, has focused on the production of black dolls, with the names of notable women, who have achieved greatly in Nigeria.
Over the years, Okoya has worked on this project independently spending millions on the ideal, with very few elite supporting his idea and dream.
With the man now involved in other businesses ventures, such as his restaurant known as Food Haven, which was opened in 2012, a lot of people are now asking if the days of his black doll dreams are over.
