The court of Appeal in Abuja has reserved judgement on an application by the Federal Government.

The Federal Government had sought for a stay of execution of the court’s judgment that ordered the release of the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.

In the application, the government alleged that Kanu constituted a huge threat to national security and must be kept in detention for peace in the country.

It was also alleged that Kanu was a flight risk and would escape out of the country if the judgment which ordered his release was not stayed.

Justice Haruna Tsanami who presided over the application on Monday, October 24, said a date for delivery of judgment would be communicated to the parties when ready.
