Fresh Crisis In Chief Mike Adenuga's Glo

A fresh crisis is currently trailing Chief Mike Adenuga’s Globacom.

According to information available to www.theoctopusnews.com, the new grumbling in the telecommunication company has to do with a recent increment in the salaries of staffers of the organisation and the manner with which it was done.

A source within the organisation informed us that though Glo finally “increased” the salaries of its staff, but the problem which has left a lot of people grumbling and stamping their feet is that the increment is more of a slap on the face of the staffers.

Why you want to ask, simple www.theoctopusnews was informed that it would have been better if nothing was done regarding salary increment, than the “slap” that was given to the staffers of Glo because now some floor staffers make more money than managers who are suppose to be their boss.

Our source revealed that there was no criteria used to measure the “increment” because half of the staff didn’t get any increase in their pay. He went on to say that the staff who didn’t get any increase were even those who should get because they were pioneer staff who had worked for the company for over 10 years.

Furthermore, our source said the management did not increase the salaries of some staffers who had even been in the company’s employ before the phones in the office were connected. According to him, people with delicate and sensitive duties were left out of the increment list, as they did not get any increment.

Our source concluded that It was like they look at the face of an employee and say I like this face, give him an increment.

Another cause of confusion in the salary increase drama is the percentages given, as some people who had the “right” connections got as much as 80 and even 100 percent while others got as low as five percent!

Interesting is the fact that the people getting high percentages have not even spent three years in the company and have not done anything outstanding, while those that got five percent have served the company for over 10 years.

Meanwhile, the situation is so bad that even those that got the five percent can not speak out because some didn’t get at all.

www.theoctopusnews.com learnt that their is no need to complain because the usual statement which follows such is simply “be grateful you have a job at all and if you are not happy, you can leave”

Such is the crisis in Glo presently.
