Dr. Peter Obafemi-and Lolade when the going was good
There are talks that the second marriage of failed Ekiti State gubernatorial aspirant Dr. Peter Obafemi to Lolade Iruka has crashed.
According to those who should know, the nuptial knot which was tied in 2013 with the promise of a better future for the new bride Lolade crashed like a pack of ill arranged cards less than two years after it was celebrated.
Currently Lolade and her one year-old son David Olamiposi Obafemi are said to be hibernating in her father’s house in GRA, Ikeja, Lagos State, as she has refused to return to her husband’ house despite family intervention.
Trouble started between Lolade and her husband when Dr. Obafemi failed to get the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s ticket to contest the June 21 election which saw Ayo Fayose emerging the Governor of the state.
When Lolade realized her plans of being a First Lady was far-fetched and the light which she saw at the end of the tunnel was fast fading she subsequently decided to reorganize.
Lolade got engaged to Dr. Obafemi in 2013 and before anyone could say “Jack Sparrow” she was pregnant for him. She delivered their only son on Sunday, September 29, 2013, at Faith City Hospital, Oju Olobun Street, Victoria Island, Lagos.
You may recollect that Dr. Obafemi had first been married to his America-based lover Maureen, but things subsequently went bad between the two and they got divorced paving way for his marriage with Lolade.
Dr. Obafemi has failed in many of the exploits he has put his hands in. He was the brain behind the now defunct Ritetime/World Airways, he has failed twice in marriage and his hope of getting his party’s gubernatorial ticket yet remains elusive.
When Dr. Obafemi was contacted to react on the story of his marriage breakup he reacted thus “This is my private life, I don’t discuss it in public, thanks.”
