2019 African Nations Cup debutant, Madagascar, trashed the Super Eagles of Nigeria 2:0 in their last group game.

The Super Eagles paraded an all star team that boast of players such as Mikel Obi, Odion Ighalo and several others.

However, this did not stop their opponent from pushing them down the table as they suffered their first defeat in the tournament.

The first goal came in 13th minute through striker Lalaina Nomenjanahary. The second goal came in the 53rd minute via an own goal scored from a Wilfred Ndidi deflected free kick taken by Carolus Andriamatsinoro.

The outcome leaves Madagascar finishing top of the group, with seven points and are unbeaten in the group.

Nigeria finish second and are likely to face Ghana in the next stage.
