Nigeria police detectives in Kwara state have detained domestic aides and some security agents attached to Nigeria’s Senate President Bukola Saraki as N300million mysteriously disappeared from his bedroom in Ilorin, Kwara state.

An investigation by SaharaReporters confirmed that the money which went missing at the home of Mr. Saraki in Ilorin had just been ferried there by the state government in different forex denominations.

SaharaReporters learnt that Mr. Saraki needed some cash with which to “please” his supporters in Ilorin at the start of the Ramadan season and had requested the state government to provide him with the cash haul.

Last year, State Security agents attached to Mr. Saraki robbed a Bureau De Change owner who is a cousin of former Head of State, Abdulsalami Abubakar of N3100million. Several months after their arrest the culprits are yet to be charged to court for robbery apparently because the DSS continues to cover up Saraki’s ownership of the cash.

Our reliable sources, in confirming the latest heist of illicit cash at Mr. Saraki’s house said this is the second time in a month that large sums of money was stolen from the Senate President’s Ilorin mansion.

A source familiar with police investigations said detectives quizzed and released the accountant to Mr. Saraki and several of his security and domestic aides. “They have all been released to forestall attracting publicity to the scandal”, a source told SaharaReporters.
