Last year, Hakeem Belo-Osagie didn’t spend a lot of his time in the social scene.
However, this year started for him on the scene albeit it was not deliberate.
The boardroom guru had reasons to step into the social circles recently when he paid his last respect to his mother, Maria Iyakekhue Belo-Osagie née Bazuaye.
The former chairman of Etisalat lost his 89-year-old mother to the cold hands of death on Monday, January 14.
With the funeral rite and internment having held at Ebony Vaults and Garden, Ikoyi, Lagos, the guests in attendance moved to Habour Point for a grand reception.
The event, which was attended by several notable individuals including Femi Otedola, Aliko Dangote, Tony Elumelu, Wale Babalakin SAN, Hajia Bola Shagaya, Senator Daisy Danjuma, and several other people was a classy affair.
The deceased was the widow of Professor Tiamiyu Belo-Osagie, a renowned medical practitioner and gynaecologist who died in 2005 at the age of 81.
