The Olugbo of Ugbo Kingdom, Oba Fredrick Akinruntan is not known for shunning high profile events when invited.
However, he failed to show up for the celebration of this year’s edition of Oranyan Festival, an event set aside to celebrate the first king of Oyo, Oranmiyan Omoluabi Odede.
Invited as one of the special guests of the event, which held on Saturday, September 10, Akinruntan was conspicuously absent.
While a lot of people anticipated his arrival, others said he might have been delayed by the heavy downpour of the day. Akinruntan was however nowhere to be found all through the event, as his chair on the high table remained unoccupied till the end of the event.
