Denrele Edun has explained the secret behind his signature foot wears. Over the years, the presenter has carved a niche for himself as a presenter and a fashion icon.

In a recent interview, he explained the inspiration behind the kind of signature shoes he wears. In his words, “the higher the heels of the shoes, the closer to heaven.”

According to Denrele, this explains the reason behind his signature shoe type. Further, Denrele explains that he has had to sacrifice comfort for fashion on several occasions, explaining that a couple of times he has experienced back pains and found out it was owing to his shoes.

He recounted how his father once told him his back pain was due to his crazy high heels.

On his road to fashion, he explained it as an accidental happening explaining that his fashion life was born following an out with popular Blogger Linda Ikeji who introduced him around before he eventually had his first photo shoot.

About Denrele Edun

Denrele Edun was born in Hamburg, Germany, to a Yoruba father and an Indian-Mauritius mother. He is the only son and has two sisters. He grew up in Germany and came to Nigeria when he was five where he attended St Gregory’s College, Ikoyi and the University of Lagos.

He was Lead dancer/choreographer for “The Iroko Band’ managed by filmmaker,Dr Ola Balogun and later became a Backup dancer for LexyDoo, Ruggedman, Jazzman Olofin, 2Shotz, Lady Di and also “Stage Shakers”.

Denrele Edun has won 16 awards and over 30 nominations in his career. He has previously worked with SoundCity before he was forced out and he moved on to become one of Channel O’s VJs.

Denrele has interviewed the likes of Akon, Beyoncé Knowles, Tyler Perry, Lil’ Kim, Snoop Dogg, Cuba Gooding, Amerie, and Lloyd.[8] Edun hosted the movie premier of Hoodrush.[11] Denrele has been credited for being behind the success of Big Brother Amplified Winner Karen Igho.

Denrele Edun and other A-list celebrities starred in the Nollywood movie Make a Move. The movie features artistes like Omawumi, 2face Idibia etc. It was directed by Niyi Akinmolayan and premiered on 6 June 2014.
