Senate President, Bukola Saraki Loses Senatorial Election

When the 9th assembly convenes, it will need a new Senate President, as Senator Bukola Saraki failed in his bid to return to the Senate.

Oloriegbe had led in earlier results.

In Asa Local Government Area, Saraki scored 11,252 votes, while Oloriegbe polled 15,932 votes.

For Ilorin East Local Government Area, the PDP candidate polled 14,654 votes, with Oloriegbe coasting home with 30,014.

In Ilorin South Local Government Area, Oloriegbe scored 26,331 votes to Saraki’s 13,013 votes.

The tally showed the APC candidate has scored a total of 72,277 votes, while Saraki has 38,919.
