Till date, some people still see Salisu Buhari as the ex-Speaker of the House of Representatives who was disgraced.
For others, the man will never rise above the controversy that saw him being impeached in 1999, having been found guilty of forging his certificate from the University of Toronto.
This conclusion might however change, as the man was recently given an opportunity to rewrite his story.
Several years after he was impeached, Buhari has bounced back.
He was one of the many inaugurated into the board of the Nigerian Industrial Policy and Competitiveness Advisory Council.
The council has a primary responsibility of leading industrial agenda aimed at boosting the contribution of manufacturing to Nigeria’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) by 250 percent.
Over a period of five years which the council will function, Buhari will need to rewrite his story if he hopes to be remembered for good.
