One man who was recently shown his true place in the hierarchy of monarchs is Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi, the King of Iwo.
From almost total obscurity, the verbose and flamboyant monarch carved for himself a larger than life image.
Occasionally spotted taking pictures at parties with big wigs such as Aliko Dangote and Femi Otedola, he soon assumed a place in spots allocated for elite monarchs such as the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi.
He was, however, given a reality check when he was reduced to size during the recent Democracy Day celebration which held at Eagles Square in Abuja.
With an invitation card on his person, the monarch was delayed for quite a while before he was admitted into the section of the venue of the celebration which had the Ooni of Ife and other first-class monarchs.
