Kwara State Governor, Dr Abdulfatah Ahmed says, due to the ‎prevailing challenges facing the country, only leaders with the temperament, disposition and candour of President Muhammadu Buhari can see Nigeria through the woods.

Governor Ahmed in a statement on the state of the nation described the administrative strategy of deep and wide consultation, critical appraisal of divergent views on salient issues which are hallmarks of inclusive governance that President Buhari has employed so far as the best for the country in the prevailing circumstances.

Ahmed who was speaking with journalists in Abuja after a meeting at the presidential Villa was of the view that such methodological appraisal borne out of strategic planning informed why President Buhari has not allowed himself in being stampeded into hasty ministerial announcements.

According to the governor, “the seeming delay in announcing the list of prospective ministers by the president, I believe is because President Buhari wants a team of top notch bureaucrats, seasoned administrators, accomplished intellectuals among others who will help
in driving the change mantra of his administration”.

The governor stressed that through such inclusive approach as President Buhari has embraced, Nigeria cannot retreat into the age of impunity, cruelty and utter disregard for the sanctity of human life.

Gov. Ahmed opined that with President Buhari’s antecedents as a bold, courageous leader, coupled with his penchant for inclusive governance, Nigeria now has a leader with the foresight of Muhammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum who pivoted the transformation of Dubai and United Arab Emirate (UAE) into the tourism and economic hub of the world; a leader in the mould of Wiston Churchill who saw Great Britain through the challenging period of World War 11.

Ahmed reasoned that a strategy of exclusion breeds dictatorship in governance, with particular reference to what the world experienced through the regimes of dictators like Mobutu Sese Seku of former Zaire, Idi Amin of Uganda among others.
