On-Air Personalities Slam NBC Over Ban Of ‘Living Things’, ‘Wo’, Others

Several On-Air Personalities have been criticising the National Broadcasting Corporation (NBC).

The reason is not far-fetched from the ban of five songs of popular musicians including Olamide, 9ice, Davido.

The songs include Olamide’s recently released ‘Wo’ and ‘Wavy Level’. Others are 9ice ‘Living Things’, and Davido’s ‘Fall’ and ‘If’.

Interestingly, the On-Air Personalities are not criticising the NBC for banning the songs, but for the fact that they had to resort to information from social media to be informed of the ban.

According to them, in a normal clime mails ought to have been sent to radio stations informing them of the “Not to be Broadcasted” order on the songs.

“Wo”, a song by Olamide had earlier being criticized by the Federal Ministry of Health in a tweet on Friday, August 18. According to the ministry, it violated the Tobacco Control Act 2015.

Olamide is not new to his songs been ban by the Nigerian regulatory body. Last year, his songs ‘Shakiti Bobo’ was ban by the NBC. ‘Don’t Stop’ another song off Eyan Mayweather,  Olamide’s 5th studio album was also ban for its vulgar lyrics.

Interestingly, the artistes involved in the development are yet to react to the ban of their songs.
