The year 2016 has seen the release of some hit albums including that of Tiwa Savage and Kiss Daniel. However, more albums are expected to drop as the year gradually runs to a close. We presents a compendium of these albums.

Patoranking
Patoranking has revealed that the title of his debut album would be God Over Everything.
God Over Everything is one album which is highly anticipated. The reason is not farfetched. With chart-topping singles such as Alubarika, Girlie O, Daniella Whine and Wedding Day, you won’t blame anybody who earnestly anticipates the album.
Asides this song, Patoranking has also done a lot of collaboration which have been come up as hits. His fans will really want to see what other body of work he has left in his bank.
Real name Patrick Nnaemeka Okorie, the dancehall act is not a fluke having already won the Headies ‘Next Rated’ award in 2014.
On Wednesday, June 8, he announced that his debut album will debut sometimes this year.

Cynthia Morgan
Like Patoranking, Cynthia Morgan’s album has also been a topic of serious discussion.
A debutant, the ragga artiste has dropped mega hit singles. Singles such as German Juice, Baby Mama, Simantiniya, Don’t Break My Heart, Lead Me On and others have made up for a seeming carefree attitude.
Her talent is in no doubt, as she is arguably the best dancehall act in the music industry presently.
A 2015 Headies ‘Next Rated’ nominee, Cynthia Morgan’s debut album is set for release this summer.

Reekado Banks
The emergence of Reekado Banks as 2015 Headies Next Rated generated a lot of controversies.
Even comedian Bovi Ugboma who was the anchor of the event confirmed the singer didn’t deserve the award when he labeled the Mavin Record singer Reekado Blanks.
With songs like Turn It Up, Katapot, Sugar Baby, and Tomorrow, Reekado Banks has a lot of convincing to do.
Asides Katapo and Oluwa Ni, hardly is any of Reekadoo Banks other songs considered a hit.
With his album, set to be released in 2016, his fans would want to confirm that he is not a flash in the pan.

Korede Bello
No doubt, Korede Bello is a bunch of talent. He has been able to win the hearts of his fans totally.
His ‘Godwin’ song practically became national anthem, as adults, children, boys and girls as young as four years old sang it over and over again.
At marriages, it was the song to be played, in churches choristers sang it. At a point in time he was invited to perform the song at a church.
With a shy smile on his face and his Jerry Curls, Korede Bello’s debut album will not only be a delight to listen to, but a collector’s item too.
Other songs that have inspired fans to anticipate his debut album includes Somebody Great featuring Asa, Mungo Park and Mr Romantic.
While a release date is yet to be stated, it won’t be wrong to expect a 2016 date.

YCee
YCee is the new kid on the block. Popular as Omo Alhaji, he was the 2015 Headies ‘Rookie of the Year’.
His song Jagaban set the pace for what to expect from the young rapper.
Although he has signed an endorsement deal, his fans would want to see how quick his music will evolve.
An album this year would not be out of place having already released hit singles such as Condo and Jagaban.

Aramide
The songs of Baseline Music singer, Aramide, is appreciated by very few music lovers.
The reason is because her music is a deviation from the norm and what is obtainable in Nigeria.
It is described as a fusion of acoustically edifying symphonies rather than risqué visual presentation, a deviation from what is common amongst most female acts in this part of the world.
Soulful is her style, she has churned out lovely songs including It’s Over, Feeling This Feeling, Iwo Nikan, I Don’t Care and Love Me.
While some of her songs might not be as popular as Iwo Nikan, her classical run in the 2006 edition of music reality show, Star Quest, is an indication that she has a lot more to offer.
A winner of the Best Female Vocal Performer category at the 2015 Headies awards, Aramide’s debut studio album is very likely to drop this year.

Adekunle Gold
Adekunle Gold is the darling of urban highlife music fans.
The reason is simply because of his style of music. As an artiste, Adekunle Gold has ceaselessly churned out slow hits perhaps inspired by his conservative personality.
From Sade to Orent, Pick Up and even Ready the quality of his music like his name is Gold. With each song the YBNL singer gets better despite critics insinuating that he is scared of experimenting, hence all of his songs have a similar beat.
In 2015, he won the Headies award for ‘Best Alternative Song category with the single ‘Sade’.
His debut album ought to have dropped, but was postponed out of respect for the Ramadan fasting which came to an end two weeks back.
Ramadan over, Adekunle Gold’s album will now drop on Thursday, July 28, and did I hear you ask if it will be a hit? Yes it will.
Real name Adekunle Kosoko, the singer is also gifted in other arts including Photoshop.
Before signing for Olamide’s YBNL he won the admiration of a lot of people with his art using photo shop.
