The most popular wife of the late Nelson Mandela, Winnie Madikizele-Mandela, received a major blow when the details of the Will left behind by the deceased former South Africa President was read.

Winnie was Mandela’s second wife. The duo; spent 38 years as husband and wife though the larger part of the years were spent in separation with Mandela spending 27 of those years in prison due to his anti-apartheid campaign.

They were however divorced in 1996. The divorce somehow turned messy with Winnie demanding a divorce settlement of R20 million which she claimed was half of Nelson’s assets.

The court however denied her of the claim ruling against her.

The anti-apartheid veteran was thus left out of the will that was read by executors in Johannesburg on Monday.

Her children and grandchildren were however beneficiaries of the will.

Mandela left R3-million each for the two children he had with Winnie: Zenani Mandela-Dlamini and Zindzi Mandela.

Zenani’s children: Zinhle, Zaziwe and Zamaswazi – would receive R100 000 each. Bambatha, Zondwa, Zwelabo and Zoleka, who are Zindzi’s children, would also receive R100 000 each.

Mandela’s great grandchild, Zozuko Mandela, who is Zamaswazi’s child, will get R100 000 from the estate.
