Mademoiselle Aglaia Frizzles Out

Published

on

When a fabulously rich young lady’s dream is about to become a reality, the momentary noise that heralds it is often synonymous with the pop of a bottle of Champagne.

This is an apt description of what transpired during the unveiling of Mademoiselle Aglaia, a luxury fashion brand owned by Mariam Afolabi, daughter of billionaire businessman and brain behind Sifax Group, Taiwo Afolabi.

With her dad’s wealth, Mariam started on a high pedestal partnering with Toyin Lawani’s TiannahStyling for her new collection, Acanthus and Renaissance Art in Lagos. Then, the event, took place at the Ball Room, Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Within a twinkle of an eye, the crowd that Mademoiselle Aglaia attracted when it berthed has frizzled out with no mention of the designer’s name or brand on red carpets of both luxury and lush events.
