Indigenes of Ogun State have lauded the  performance of the Vice-Chancellor (VC), University of Lagos, Professor Rahamon Ade Bello. According to them, his performance as VC can be likened to something similar to the achievements of the late sage, Chief Obafemi Awolowo.

Speaking in separate interviews at the yearly family prayers organized by  the Bello family in Iboro, Yewa North local government area of Ogun State, recently Professor Biyi Afonja, a former Pro-Chancellor, Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, said “service humility  and integrity, which stand Bello out was a family trait, while praying for greater height for the Iboro Yewa-born Vice-Chancellor.

The Chief Imam of Iboroland, Yinusa Agbaje, who spoke on behalf of the Muslim Clergymen recalled that the Bello family has always brought honour to the state, the academia and Nigeria at large.

“What  other mortals see as achievement is nothing to Professor Bello. Whereas lesser mortals crave material things, sacrifice their values on the altar of greed, our Professor is not like that and we are proud of his pedigree,”  the learned cleric enthused.
