Popular Fuji musician, Kollington Ayinla also known as “Keben Kwara”, is in the news, this time, not for a palatable reason.

Information available to The Octopus has it that the man recently swindled the president of the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria (PMAN), Hajia Dangaji, of N10 million.

A source close to The Octopus revealed that a member of PMAN had brought Dangaji and Kollington together for the woman to bankroll a show the musician was planning. We learnt that trouble started when Kollington changed the venue of the event from a posh location in Ikeja to his own area, a major factor that he and his sponsor had earlier agreed on.

As if that was not enough, The Octopus learnt that the musician also took that money that was sprayed him on the night of the event to his house contrary to the agreement he had signed with his financier. The whole matter, however, got to a head when the musician brought a marketer to buy the event instead of the agreed plan of the sponsor being the one to sell the show.

A source revealed to The Octopus that the woman is alleging that Kollington defrauded her of all the capital she invested, as he has sold the show to a marketer and she can’t recover her money anymore. The source revealed that the woman was shocked when she received a call, telling her that the CDs of the show were already selling in the streets of Lagos.

A meeting to resolve the matter held on Monday, May 21, at Citadel Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos, where representatives of Kollington and Hajia Dangaji met and the woman threatened fire and brimstone, calling Kollington a fraudster. It was also learnt that musician’s representatives begged the woman not to call her lawyer and not to take the matter to court, as they could settle the matter amicably. Another meeting was, however, scheduled for Friday, May 24, where all parties, including the musician, are expected to be present.

An associate of the woman told The Octopus that, if after the meeting, there is no solution to the issue, Hajia Dangaji would have to seek redress in court.
