When the news of the governorship ambition of former Secretary to Akwa Ibom State Government (SSG), Obong Umana Okon Umana, first hit town, it came with frenzy.
So determined was the man about his ambition that he even had a face-off with his boss, Governor Godswill Akpabio, before eventually resigning from the cabinet.
All that seems to be history now, as the passion with which Umana started his race seems to have been doused by his ex-boss, who is said to be shopping for a worthy replacement who would tackle the former commissioner of finance during the election.
www.theoctopusnews.com, learnt that while other governorship hopeful are busy strategizing, with some even paying for documentaries and advertorials on what they have achieved with their present offices, very little has been heard from Umana, giving the impression that his passion to lead Akwa Ibom State as from 2015, might have simmered.
Reality first set in for Umana when after resigning his appointment he threw a birthday party, which major political players and influential party stalwarts in the state did not attend.
