For a lot of people, confidence makes any man or woman.
After all, it is often said that he who doesn’t dare cannot win.
However, overconfidence has led many men and women astray.
This position, is one which Senator Gbenga Ashafa will be pondering on, as he gets set to become politically irrelevant for at least four years.
Prior to the Senatorial primaries, Senator Ashafa, had a lot of praise singers, as lines such as “he is our best and most experienced representative” took over the social media.
In the wake of it all, he got soaked in the grandiose of his praise singers, and forgot that election were won by electorates.
In his constituency, his presence was hardly felt for all the years he spent in the Senate, except for his stylish all blue campaign pictures which surfaced with the coming of the primary election.
Even then, most of them were torn by disgruntled youths, setting the pace for the exit of the senator.
Now, among the league of the shock losers in the election, Senator Ashafa’s albatross will be how to maintain his political relevance till another election. Maybe then he will be able to make a comeback
