Ecobank Plc, has been indicted in a dirty media campaign
According to information reaching www.theoctopusnews.com, the financial institution is been alleged of been behind a deliberate media attack on the person of the Director General of the Debt Management Office, Dr. Abraham Nwankwo.
Report reaching us has it that Dr. Nwankwo is been attacked due to his office’s involvement in a case involving several corporate organisations such as First Deep Water Discovery Limited, First Bank of Nigeria PLC, Stallionaire Energy Limited, Olive Energy Limited, Bargamo Shipping Limited, Sulphur Stream Limited and Faiceck Petroleum Limited.
First Deep Water Discoveries Limited is one of the debtors of Ecobank, who have been trying to get their money from the organisation via the Debt Management Office, however its inability to get the DG to play ball has led to his person been attacked, we have learnt.
While it is the responsibility of the DMO to issue out Sovereign Debt Notes for subsidy payments to oil marketers, the fact that the a fore mentioned organisations are all seeking to get same money as Ecobank has seen the hands of the DG of DMO tied.
In order to have its own say and not be painted in a negative light the DMO has since filed a response to the committal proceeding in a Ecobank Nigeria Limited suit with hearing is set for May 13, 2015.
