Disbelief, is what has been trailing all Global Com’s promo, since Olasunkanmi Alliu, a winner of their “Win a Trip to Dubai” promo came out to say he and his fellow winners have not been taking to the oil rich country two years after winning.

It is the same story that is still trailing the organisation even as new winners from another promo have emerged.

Winners from the new promotion including a police Inspector, a nurse, a civil servant and a commercial tricycle driver who allegedly won between N10,000 and N5 million in the ongoing Glo “Recharge to Stardom” promo.

Though they are said to have collected their cheques at a special prize presentation ceremony held on Friday, August 30, at Glo’s corporate headquarters in Lagos, a vox pop conducted by www.theoctopusnews.com revealed how people had lost the trust they once had in promotion, especially those conducted by Glo.

Speaking to our reporter, Karim Oseni, stated that “he had lost faith in such promo since the story hit town that those who were to be taken to Dubai did not make the trip.” He went further to say that “although he had always thought most of the organisation conducting promos especially the ones they tell you that you will win millions with N200, arranged, but he is now very convinced even as he wondered why Olasunkanmi and his fellow winners did not travel to Dubai in the Glo promo in which they emerged winners.

The supposed winners of the current “Recharge to Stardom” promo include Stephen Kuti, a policeman who won N5million; Donatus Nwodoh, a lawyer from Abakaliki who went home with N1million; Linus Udo, a tricycle driver from Akwa Ibom; Tayo Attah, a nurse from Kaduna; and Adedapo Kolawole, a civil servant from Kwara state.

Other winners include: Ahmed Adoga, a driver from Delta State; and Ayokari Atimuda, a student from Ado Ekiti; who won N1milion each. Twenty other subscribers won N25,000 each while 23 others won N10,000 each.

Although during the prize presentation ceremony, the winners expressed their surprise and joy at the fact that they were among the lucky winners in the promo which is part of Glo’s 10th anniversary celebration, it is only hoped that they will receive their winnings, as the ordeal of Olasunkanmi Alliu and his mates remains fresh in our minds.

According to the promo, prepaid and post-paid Glo subscribers who recharge with N200 and above during the promo period stand a chance of winning any of the prizes ranging from N10,000 to N1million while subscribers who recharge up to N5,000 during the promo period stand a chance of winning the grand prize of N25million.
