Senator Buruji Kasamu has vowed that he would do everything possible to make sure neither Chief Bode George nor Otunba Gbenga Daniel becomes the National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) because “they will continue the era of impunity and lawlessness which Ahmed Makarfi has instituted on the party since taking over the reign of leadership from Senator Ali Modu Sheriff”.
Senator Kashamu stated this while addressing some members of the Omo Ilu Foundation in Ijebu Igbo recently.
“I cannot just sit back and allow Bode George or Gbenga Daniel become the chairman of our great party just because they have the backing of Makarfi”, he said.
Senator Buruji regretted that the PDP lost quite a number of valuable members because they are not happy. “People like Sheriff have abandoned the party because they are angry”.
In his words Professor Tunde Adeniran remains the best candidate for the Chairmanship position at this crucial period and that is why he was in support of the former minister.
Senator Kashamu continued ; “those in good conscience should rise up against people of questionable characters who are hell bent on using the non constitutional Caretaker Committee of Ali Modu Sheriff to take over the party”, he warned.
On Governor Ayodele Fayose, Senator Buruji said: “Fayose is just wasting his time. His rascality cannot save him from EFCC probe after his tenure in office. Everybody knows he wants to become the Vice President at all cost to prevent the EFCC from instituting any case against him but he will fail.
He also latched on Chief Bode George who he accused of influencing his wife who is an official in the NDLEA to harass him since he became a federal lawmaker.
