Since his marriage to Annie Idibia, 2Baba has kept his excesses in check.

Dropping hits such as Amaka and several others, his career though not as vibrant as it used to be has been devoid of controversies.

Supported by his wife, his management team led by Efe Omorogbe, the artist has maintained an organised outlook, attracting a lot of respect, hence the title of ‘legend’ often attributed to him.

2Baba, however, raised eyebrows when he wrote an apology to his wife and management team on Twitter without explaining the reason for his action.

Sparking off rumours that all might not be well between him and his wife, 2Baba apologised for messing up and not being a good role model as a father and a husband, while asking for forgiveness.

Known to have a peculiar history with women, the artist who already has seven children from three women was quickly trailed by speculations that he had impregnated another woman.

His subsequent tweet “sorry for disappointing anybody, I am not asking for forgiveness,” further confirmed that all was not well between the singer and his wife.

That he also tweeted “I’m sorry I was not hacked. I meant everything I said. I’ll stop disturbing your timeline now. Stay good. Take care. Believe whatever you believe” confirmed that he was really serious.

Having been trailed by a lot of speculations, the singer cleared the air creating an impression that it was all a mere publicity stunt, as he shut down rumours that his marriage was troubled.

His tweet “let’s try to celebrate positive things more. Bad news always fly quick. Why good news no doesn’t fly like this. No cause for alarm. Make we laugh this one small. #onelove” confirmed that the whole thing might indeed have been a stunt.

Whatever the purpose of the stunt, 2Baba needs to realise that stunts of such magnitude don’t sit well with artists of his level.

For an up and coming artist or a comedian desperately and shamelessly trying to sell his forthcoming show via a ruse, it might be understood. However, for one supposedly a legend in the music industry, 2Baba has gone too far and it is okay to ask what manner of a legend he has become
